High School Equivalency (GED)

Sutter County Adult Education offers preparation classes for the HiSET® exam. (Also known as  HiSET®, GED, and TASC). This class is for students who want to earn a high school equivalency certificate. The class is a self-paced learning environment in an instructional lab setting. Students receive individual designed lessons, as well as whole group and small group direct instruction. 

Most students begin taking the HiSET® exam after 4 weeks of the preparation class. After 40 hours of class time, students receive a $50 off voucher to register for the HiSET® exam through Sutter County Adult Education. 

This class focuses on preparing students for all of the high school equivalency subjects:

    • Language Arts - Reading
    • Language Arts - Writing
    • Science
    • Social Science
    • Mathematics

Students will take official practice tests on all five subjects to gauge readiness for the actual exams.
